Disc Golf is flying high in Belleville

Disc golf is really taking off in Belleville.

The Quinte Disc Golf Association has been working with the city to organize and build the newly constructed facility in West Riverside Park.

They have a big event coming up later this month in Belleville.

The details are included in the poster at the bottom left.

The following information has also been provided by the association.

RELEASE - The Quinte Disc Golf Association is a group of volunteers working with the city to bring great disc golf courses and events to the area. Breaking ground in 2022, we have been able to install a beautiful course at Riverside West park. It is an 18 hole course starting at the flower flag parking lot and looping past the skatepark. The course is 100% free to play for anyone with frisbees (except for certain events) and the quinte disc golf community on Facebook welcomes any skill level to join in on the fun. We also do weekly league events.

Riverside Rumble is a PDGA (professional disc golf association) and ODSA (Ontario disc sports association) sanctioned tournament that will have up to 96 players coming to Belleville. This tournament is a PDGA c-tier which means disc golfers will have a "rated round" and be able to track their progression. Players in disc golf tournaments play on the same course but in different divisions, such as ma3 and fa3 which are male and female beginner divisions all the way up to MPO and FPO which are Pro divisions. Amateurs will all go home with custom riverside discs and pros will be battling for a cash pot and custom trophy!

Currently, we have gotten a huge amount of support from the city of Belleville, as well as our sponsors of the course for this season, disc deals, McDougall insurance, Moira View Farm, and Gilmour's by the Bay. Sponsors will get signage as well as a custom band wrap to cover the basket. I am not sure if you are allowed to include this but I thought I would mention it.

Questions or inquiries about the facilities can be sent to them at quintediscgolf@gmail.com.
